Fire Safety legislation for England and Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland highlights the legal responsibilities of reducing the risk of fire spreading within a premises.

Fully functioning fire doors help to prevent the spread of fires and provide people with a safe route to evacuate. Compartmentalisation helps to starve the fire of oxygen, eventually subduing it.

The following report provides the following:

  • Findings following a survey relating to each client nominated fire door.
  • Pictorial evidence showing related issues is applicable.
  • Approved repair technique applied (if applicable).
  • Declaration by competent and approved operative.
  • Final Approval and declaration by company approved person

Our survey was designed as a non-destructive inspection (where visited) only, to ascertain the probability of each door to contain a fire where possible to the room of origin or area of ignition.

The findings and opinions expressed in this report are based on the available access/time constraints/conditions encountered and/or the information reasonably available at the time of the inspection. The date of issue of this document shall be applicable only to the circumstances envisaged herein. Our proposals assume that the main structural elements on site i.e., the partitions, walls and concrete floors have generally been constructed in line with the respective manufacturer’s installation methods and adhere to the relevant Building Regulations at the time of construction

Is the frame Securely fixed and correctly installed?

At the request of the customer the survey/inspection has been non-intrusive, therefore it has not been possible to determine the size, type and number of the fixings securing the frame. We recommend the client where possible to obtain original installation certification or where this is not achievable, we would recommend the client have an intrusive survey, following guidance of their nominated fire risk assessor/fire safety advisor.

Is there adequate fire stopping products between frame and substrate?

At the request of the customer the survey/inspection has been non-intrusive, therefore it has not been possible to determine the methods and/or products used to seal between the frame and substrate. We recommend the client where possible to obtain original installation certification or where this is not achievable, we would recommend the client have an intrusive survey, following guidance of their nominated fire risk assessor/fire safety advisor.
